My Journey with Pilates
Growing up in Jamaica, I was passionate about sprinting and ran throughout my school years. However, my love for running led to patellar tendonitis, forcing me into a more sedentary lifestyle and making daily activities difficult - I even had to give up my favourite stilettos!
During this challenging time, physiotherapy became essential to my recovery. After my sessions, I discovered Pilates, which focuses on enhancing physical function, mobility and strength. Through discipline and consistent practise, I regained balance and strength, and I was amazed at how Pilates strengthened the muscles around my knees and relieved my lower back pain.
Inspired by my transformation, I felt the urge to share my journey and highlight the power of movement. Pursuing Pilates training was a natural choice for me.
Now, Pilates is my foundation for staying strong and active as I embrace life beyond 20 (yes 20 again!). It allows me to remain injury free while enjoying activities like hiking, swimming and weight lifting.
